Summer pearls

One of the things I love best about living in Ohio is the abundance of wonderful sweet corn this time of year. I’ve had some so sweet and good this year that butter and salt are an afterthought.
I’ll eat the leftovers cold out of the fridge, and nibble on the tiny, underdeveloped kernels that are often overlooked at the tip of the cob. Add some fresh canteloupe, a homegrown tomato and a ripe, juicy peach, and it’s a feast.
